Lotus Evora

Lotus used to stand for "Lots of Trouble, Usually Serious" but the 2+2 mid-engined Evora seems to have distracted from Lotus' usual light weight philosophy. It even have power windows and air con as standard, dammit! Weight is lithe at 1382kg by modern cars' standard (behold the lardy R35) but way heavier than anything Lotus has produced in the past*.

But still, you can't argue with the appeal of a 3.5 litre V6 mated to a chassis thats twice as stiff as a Elise, with acceleration properly strapping at 5.1 secs to 100kmph and rail-like cornering abilities.

Basically a modern sports car with (reasonably) modern amenities for grown ups who like dynamic driving, without feeling like they are strapped to a dynamite. I can see the appeal in that.

*the 1996 Lotus Elise tipped the scales at an unprecedented 675 kg!
