Giant Killer

In terms of power to weight, I have no doubt this Ariel will kick the shit outta the Prancing Pony.

A Futuristic Ferrari.

Designer Iman Maghsoudi believes driving cars in the future will be akin to operating a PC while traveling 200 km/h. Humans lacks the concentration and dexterity required to handle such a task but the inevitably of hyper-computerized vehicles is a truth we can’t avoid. Monza is built for speed but smart enough to drive itself.

At slower speeds, the “pilot” sits in a cockpit similar to straddling your office chair like a motorcycle and has full control. Once you exceed a specified speed limit, the computer takes over. The vehicle changes shape resembling an airfoil for maximum aerodynamics. The design creates lift to reduce friction and strong ground effects keep you from taking off. The 2 manta ray like fins adjust to channel air smoothly across the vehicle while also serving to make you look totally bad ass!

Toyoru or Subarta ???

Toyota is getting back into the affordable sports-coupe game with an all new model by partnering with Subaru. Powering this future coupe will be Subaru’s 2.0-liter flat-4 equipped with a new direct-injection system, tuned to produce an impressive 200 bhp and 145 lb.-ft. of torque. The car will weigh about 1200kg., so expect fairly quick acceleration times, probably around 6.0 seconds to 100kmh. The suspension will consist of MacPherson struts up front and a multilink setup at the rear, with the chassis based on that of the Subaru Impreza and Legacy.

Toyota will mainly be in charge of the car’s styling. Although both Toyota and Subaru versions will be offered, the two models won’t look much different, apart from badging.

This front-engine/rear-wheel-drive coupe will reincarnate the spirit of the 1983-1987 Corolla Levin/Trueno (AE86), a car that is still popular today, especially among drift enthusiasts. According to our sources, Toyota’s code name for this future sports car is 086A. That it’s so similar to AE86 is no coincidence.

The car is scheduled to appear sometime in 2011 or 2012.

For men only !

Sorry guys, but no babes here :P

When the brawn gp F1 team was launched at start of the year Chris Labrooy had to design these F1 inspired gadgets to rival the famous Braun appliance manufacturer. Sleek aerodynamic surfaces combined with exotic carbon materials make for the best appliances on earth.

An Even Nicer Pair

Hot on the heels of Nicholas' Caymans yesterday are these Italia exotica.

An awesome pair of F430s shot and detailed by Darren Chong, lens man and detailer extraordinaire based in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.

My vote goes to the one with mesh rims and black interior.

Check out Darren's amazing work here.

The Irony of It

THE TRAFFIC PEOPLE IS SPONSORING THIS YEAR'S FORMULA DRIFT IN SINGAPORE!!!

"Video games like Need For Speed and movies such as The Fast And The Furious: Tokyo Drift have helped popularise drifting, especially among younger drivers.

This is exactly the group the Traffic Police hope to reach out to with the launch of this year's Road Safety Outreach programme at the Formula Drift Pro-Am Series event on July 4 and 5."

*Not a hoax, see Straits Times article here.
