MPT Time Attack Session
The MPT Time Attack event happen last Saturday at Sepang and here are some pictures courtesy of MPT's Facebook account.
I was not there so I don't know the timings and rankings...
Anyone present on that day send me the timing sheet so I can post it up?

Lewis and Heikki really should just stick to driving
Lousy script and slow cars. But it does has Hamilton and Kovalainen acting (and I use the term loosely) like boy racers. At least you only waste 2'21" of your life on it.
Improving The Breed
Every enthusiast can understand this beautiful and heartfelt movie about a man and his BMW 130i. Not a single word of dialogue but the emotions get through clearly. It is about bettering yourself through improving the breed.

F1 Is Dead
The unthinkable has finally happened.
The Formula One Teams' Association announced on yesterday night that it is setting up a breakaway championship. Following a four hour meeting at Renault's Enstone factory, the eight members of FOTA - Ferrari, McLaren, Renault, BMW Sauber, Toyota, Brawn, Red Bull Racing and Scuderia Toro Rosso - said they had grown frustrated with the FIA's stance against the organisation, and had no option but to create a series of their own.
Actually, all that means is the new FOTA series will become the new F1 in all but name.
"The major drivers, stars, brands, sponsors, promoters and companies historically associated with the highest level of motorsport will all feature in this new series."
I guess Bernie won't be getting richer off F1 anymore.
"This series will have transparent governance, one set of regulations, encourage more entrants and listen to the wishes of the fans, including offering lower prices for spectators worldwide, partners and other important stakeholders."

Lotus Evora
Lotus used to stand for "Lots of Trouble, Usually Serious" but the 2+2 mid-engined Evora seems to have distracted from Lotus' usual light weight philosophy. It even have power windows and air con as standard, dammit! Weight is lithe at 1382kg by modern cars' standard (behold the lardy R35) but way heavier than anything Lotus has produced in the past*.
But still, you can't argue with the appeal of a 3.5 litre V6 mated to a chassis thats twice as stiff as a Elise, with acceleration properly strapping at 5.1 secs to 100kmph and rail-like cornering abilities.
Basically a modern sports car with (reasonably) modern amenities for grown ups who like dynamic driving, without feeling like they are strapped to a dynamite. I can see the appeal in that.
*the 1996 Lotus Elise tipped the scales at an unprecedented 675 kg!

One & Only N400 in Town
This is the only Aston Martin N400 in Singapore. Our example is in Karussell Orange, with Bergwerk Black and Lightning Silver as other colours available from the factory. Rather pretentious names for paint jobs, if you ask me.
The N400 is essentially a limited edition V8 Vantage, getting a 400bhp 4.3-litre engine, uprated suspension, some visual tweaks and a host of extra equipment, too. The model also gets restyled sills, silver air intakes and a new grille. Lightweight 19-inch alloys and clear rear lamp lenses complete the visual updates.
Available in Coupé or Roadster trim, only 240 examples of each body style will be made.
Specs wise, tweaks to the engine management and an air intake system taken from the flagship DBS liberate an extra 20bhp from the 4.3-litre V8, taking power to 400bhp, while torque rises from 10Nm to 420Nm. The 0-60mph sprint is identical at 4.9 seconds and top speed is up only 2mph to 177mph.
They are being built to celebrate Aston Martin’s participation in several editions of the gruelling Nürburgring 24 Hour races, in which the company used a near standard production V8 Vantage called the N24. As such, the N400 has spent thousands of miles being fine-tuned at the famous German track, with a Nürburgring circuit map on the armrest in case the owner forgets.
Aston now claims the N400 is among only a handful of production cars that can lap the circuit in less than eight minutes. I can almost hear the GTR fans shout 'BIG F**KING DEAL' but for supercars of this calibre, out-and-out track time comparisons are almost meaningless. The cars can go below 8 minutes, but how many of us got the skill to do a 8 minute Nür lap?
