Amuse S2000 in Singapore

A S2000 in Singapore fully decked out with Amuse's famous GT1 widebody, GT mirrors and CE28 rims. The ultimate in JDM porn for fans of the Honda roadster.

Singapore S2000 Galore

Mega gathering last year by the S2000 community in Singapore to celebrate the 10th year anniversary of the venerable Honda roadster.

Saw these great pictures taken by Eugene a while back but never gotten around to posting them up.

Erm...

I don't know why but this R35 reminds me of a Tic Tac or Dairy Queen.

The Lambo That Wants To Be A Scud

If you own a Lambo, please don't put Challenge Stradale or 430 Scud stripes please.... :(

One of Fifty Worldwide

The uber exclusive roadster version of Lamborghini Murcielago LP650-4, brought to you once again by Eugene.

Drool over the specs and a brilliant write-up by Times Online here.

But is it just me, or is Lambo coming up with sooo many special editions, they ain't special anymore?

More of the Superveloce

Eugene posted up a few more Superveloce pictures after my initial post and I don't think you guys will mind.

Alcantara overload...

Superveloce hits Singapore

Apparently the uber Lambo has hit the shores of Singapore recently. I am loving the carbonfibre rear wing. The car has the tuner look applied to the Murcie. I like!

Check out the brake porn on display.

With its 'lesser' (I used the word loosely in the relative sense!) siblings waiting for delivery to their lucky owners.

Matt Black Murcielago 2

Another picture of the Murcielago that Eugene shoot a while back. This time with its scissor doors up.

Dramatic entrances don't come much more dramatic then this one...

Lotus Evora

Lotus used to stand for "Lots of Trouble, Usually Serious" but the 2+2 mid-engined Evora seems to have distracted from Lotus' usual light weight philosophy. It even have power windows and air con as standard, dammit! Weight is lithe at 1382kg by modern cars' standard (behold the lardy R35) but way heavier than anything Lotus has produced in the past*.

But still, you can't argue with the appeal of a 3.5 litre V6 mated to a chassis thats twice as stiff as a Elise, with acceleration properly strapping at 5.1 secs to 100kmph and rail-like cornering abilities.

Basically a modern sports car with (reasonably) modern amenities for grown ups who like dynamic driving, without feeling like they are strapped to a dynamite. I can see the appeal in that.

*the 1996 Lotus Elise tipped the scales at an unprecedented 675 kg!

One & Only N400 in Town

This is the only Aston Martin N400 in Singapore. Our example is in Karussell Orange, with Bergwerk Black and Lightning Silver as other colours available from the factory. Rather pretentious names for paint jobs, if you ask me.

The N400 is essentially a limited edition V8 Vantage, getting a 400bhp 4.3-litre engine, uprated suspension, some visual tweaks and a host of extra equipment, too. The model also gets restyled sills, silver air intakes and a new grille. Lightweight 19-inch alloys and clear rear lamp lenses complete the visual updates.

Available in Coupé or Roadster trim, only 240 examples of each body style will be made.

Specs wise, tweaks to the engine management and an air intake system taken from the flagship DBS liberate an extra 20bhp from the 4.3-litre V8, taking power to 400bhp, while torque rises from 10Nm to 420Nm. The 0-60mph sprint is identical at 4.9 seconds and top speed is up only 2mph to 177mph.

They are being built to celebrate Aston Martin’s participation in several editions of the gruelling Nürburgring 24 Hour races, in which the company used a near standard production V8 Vantage called the N24. As such, the N400 has spent thousands of miles being fine-tuned at the famous German track, with a Nürburgring circuit map on the armrest in case the owner forgets.

Aston now claims the N400 is among only a handful of production cars that can lap the circuit in less than eight minutes. I can almost hear the GTR fans shout 'BIG F**KING DEAL' but for supercars of this calibre, out-and-out track time comparisons are almost meaningless. The cars can go below 8 minutes, but how many of us got the skill to do a 8 minute Nür lap?

Shout "Wald"!

This is the first Wald International aerokitted GTR in Singapore.

A rather marmite choice if you ask me. I am still unsure whether I love its complexity or hate its convoluted-ness, case in point being the rear wheel arch.

Eugene says it looks absolutely awesome in the flesh. Well, it definitely stand out from the numerous GTRs we have over here.

Divine Details

Enough to make a grown man weep.

No problem with brake fade on this set up.

Carbonfibre and crystals. How come no one thought of that earlier?

Where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

Limited Competizione

Nobody does supercars quite like the Italians and the Alfa Romeo 8C Competitizione is one of the most gorgeous looking in recent history, not to mention its exclusivity.

The 8C will be built in a limited number of 500 and Alfa Romeo have earmarked the entire production run among several important markets. It is all sold out.

One has landed in Singapore. Check out specs here and showroom location here.

Motley Crew

An interesting picture from last year's K1 event in Singapore (before the F1 night race).

How often do you see an Aston Martin, Lotus Elise, Nissan RPS13 and Toyota Chaser lined up on the same starting grid?

I just love the purity in purpose of Lotuses. A matt black paintjob makes this Elise look even tougher. I like.

First the lime green one I posted a while back and now this Big Bird, Godzillas are coming in all sort of hues nowadays...

Colour Coordination For Men

It's not just the prerogative of girls to color coordinate their outfits. Apparently guys should do that with their Porsches' rims and side mirrors as well.

And in case people mistake yours for a run-of-the-mill 997, proudly proclaim the edition number with hugeass side decals in aforementioned colour scheme.

Dark Knights

In addition to Nicholas, seems like Eugene was at the Lambo cruise as well!

Interesting thatalthought two photographers are at the same event, you end up getting a totally different vibe from the event. Nicholas' shots are more cosmopolitan whereas Eugene's compositions are gritty and in-your-face.

While these cars (and their owners) are hardly shrinking violets, there is just something I love about the understated-ness of a pair of black Lambos. It says, "I am trying to be inconspicuous but look at me anyway."

Right before the central mounted exhaust roar to life and burst your ear drums.

Once again, saving my favourite photo for the last. Batman returns...

Form Follows Function (S2K)

GT mirrors (Craft Square?), mismatched front & rear rims imbue this S2000 with a track-oriented vibe, which is contrasted nicely with how clean the rest of the car looks.

These should be RE30 rims custom painted Takata green. As proclaimed by some track junkies, "Brake dust adds character to a car..."

More goodies behind - a 3D GT wing and J's Racing exhaust round up the rest of the package.

Goes to show that small, tastefully applied mods are sufficient to transform the S2000 from subdued-looking roadster to a purposeful street/track machine. Nice!
